I am now safely ensconced inside a wonderful B&B in Grecia in Costa Rica. All is well, and tomorrow it's out to find a cell phone for local calls (all of Costa Rica is local calls), and some other stuff. The flight was fine, the weather is warm but not hot here in the central highlands.
I expect to stay here and do nothing for three days, then off to do some sort of touristy thing. Really, it doesn't matter at this point. 'Cause I'm here. Yippee.
So no worries to everyone who's worried. I am not in the clouds anymore...
“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you.” ― A.A. Milne

Getting Ready To Leave
For those of you who are wondering if I have totally lost my mind - I have not. (Then again, would I really know?) I've just misplaced it for a couple of months and somehow I've forgotten my first name as well (Steven, Steve, Stevie, Esteban). Since Landon is my newly minted pen name and my legal second name, it seems apropos to start this new venture with a change.
This is very new for me. As Irun away travel to Costa Rica to find a warm beach or cloud forest, I will find a tranquil yet invigorating place in which to set my trusty netbook and write the novel to end all novels. Or at least a treatise, or a menu, or a business coaching book or maybe a children's book or a sci-fi classic.
Or maybe I'll just stare at the ocean and contemplate life and get tired of it and ask my friends to join me so we can all just try and get tired of being on a beach when the snow hits in Canada. Might take three months... or longer.
Whatever happens will happen for a reason. I look forward to sharing my photos of small colourful frogs and large biting insects and monkeys and perhaps some of the wonderful people that I know I will meet and the stunning vistas I will experience.
We all have choices in life, and we are all capable of many things, but we do not know what is possible if we do not try. We all should strive to live our passion and not fall into monotony. I hope to share some of my thoughts during this adventure, if for no other reason as toplacate assuage reassure those who are worried for my health or sanity. I am eternally grateful for them, for my life and for this chance.
